I recently had the opportunity to attend WordCamp Kerala, and it was an incredible experience. For me, the best part of being part of the WordPress community is attending these events. This particular WordCamp was especially meaningful to me, as it was my first time speaking at an event.
Getting to Kochi, Kerala was a bit of a journey, but it was well worth it. The climate was hot and humid, but my fellow attendees and I were all excited to be there. We stayed at Santa Maria Hostel, which was a beautiful space with amazing artwork on the walls. The networking dinner on the first night was a great opportunity to meet new people and learn from some of the brightest minds in the community.
The next day was the WordCamp itself, and I have to admit I was pretty nervous as it was my first time speaking at an event. But everything went well, and I really enjoyed the other sessions. There were three different tracks, covering everything from community and optimization to productivity and careers. It was truly inspiring to hear from so many talented speakers.
While I was there, I also had the chance to explore some of the nearby art cafes. The Biennale was happening at the same time, so the local culture was really on display. It was amazing to see how it influenced the art scene.
Overall, I’m so glad I had the opportunity to attend WordCamp Kerala. It was a wonderful experience, and I feel like I learned so much and made some great connections. I’m already looking forward to the next WordCamp!
