“Trust me it’s…” She was consoling him
“…… impossible!” He was not ready.
“It’ll work.” She kept on trying.
“How are you so sure?” He kept on doubting.
“I just know it.” She looked him in the eye, with all her trust.
“Okay…. let’s give it a try.” He agreed finally.
He was suffering from chronic insomnia, and she was willing to give her sleep to him.
She gazed at him and saw a sore man; who was desperate to be healed. He looked like if she touched him; he would be on fire. Tears filled her eyes. She was scared stiff, but she had to mend his sleep. She extended her hand to his cheek, and he immediately hugged her.
They lied on the bed, in each other’s arms. He was still struggling, and she was holding him; trying to relax his breath. She put her fingers through his hairs, gently moving them. She looked at his tensed eyes; they were trying so hard to sleep. That struggle made her realize how much he needed the cure.
She gently kissed his eyes and whispered, “I am close to you now, just try to relax your body and mind. Stop thinking about anything else, but me.” She kissed his cheeks, “I am here with you, always; through all the worst and best.” She kissed his lips, “I am never leaving you.” She kissed his chest and felt his increased heartbeat. She put her palm on his chest, “I am all yours. You are now going to sleep, with me. Can you do that?”
He nodded, with a little-settled breath. She held him close and tried to match with his breathing. It was rapid. “Breath with me”, she whispered, not moving away from him. Slowly, they managed at one rate. She put her hand on his chest; his heart was beating with hers. She kissed his eyes, “Good night, love.”
He didn’t fell asleep but he was lost in her for sure. Tonight, he could feel her around him, with his eyes closed; only her breathing, only her heartbeat, and just her soothing voice. He was feeling calm, from within. She still held him, he kept his eyes closed. She fell asleep… And after a while, he took a nap.
The next morning, he woke up to her beautiful kiss, and he believed that she was the only cure to his everything. Sure, it will take time, but he was assured that she’ll be beside him, always.
It’s not about trying hard in a relationship… it’s about not giving up.
